Dining Service Manager
Baldwin House Assisted Living Baldwin House Assisted Living Daphne, AL Daphne, AL Full-time Full-time $17 - $18 an hour $17 - $18 an hour We are looking for a professional Dining Services Manager and Cook to prepare food to the exact dietician's specifications in our Assisted Living Community.
The Dining Services manager will be responsible for the oversight of the Culinary team and planning menus.
Along with menu planning, the DSM will complete all ordering and shopping from our approved vendors.
The Dining Services Manager will perform Line Cook duties as well when working in the kitchen, that will include preparing meals following a recipe and washing cooking pans and dining room dishes and assisting with bussing of tables.
The successful candidate will play a key role in contributing to our customer satisfaction and acquisition goals.
Must have desire to provide delicious home cooked meals that are satisfying to our residents.
Must be willing to prepare all courses, including appetizers and desserts.
Must be creative in supporting menus for family nighty functions and special occasions.
Responsibilities Set up and stocking stations with all necessary supplies Prepare food for service (e.
g.
chopping vegetables, butchering meat, or preparing sauces) Cook menu items Answer, report and follow Executive Director's direction.
Clean up station and take care of leftover food Stock inventory appropriately Ensure that food comes out simultaneously, in high quality and in a timely fashion Comply with nutrition and sanitation regulations and safety standards Maintain a positive and professional approach with coworkers and customers.
Complete food order with various vendors Shop at local market for best price and quality of food.
Train and Direct Culinary team Skills Proven cooking experience, including experience as a line chef, restaurant cook or prep cook Excellent understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment and procedures Accuracy and speed in executing assigned tasks Familiar with industry's best practices Ability to obtain ServeSafe Manager certification within 90 days of employment and also CPR certified.
